programming for Poli-Sci

Programming for PoliSci is an informal meeting of students with the objective of learning how to use programming tools and techniques for the creation, manipulation, and analysis of datasets. This is particularly important given the extensive amounts of data that have been posted by government offices online and the competitive advantage that PhD students have by knowing how to tap these resources.

The topics to cover include:

  1. Intro to programming
  2. Basic concepts
  3. Variable types
  4. Control Structures
  5. Input / Output
  6. Storage
  7. Basic design of algorithms
